No. A calendar or spreadsheet works if you keep it up to date. An app helps because it works out each renewal date from the date of the last check, reminds you before anything lapses, and keeps the certificates in one place for the PRS register and your tenants.

Which to choose

You want rent tracking, accounts, Making Tax Digital or maintenance in the same place: August, PaTMa or Landlord Studio. Certkept doesn't do any of those.
